Also called “clear tea,’ it is produced in Wenshan District, north of Taiwan. It is similar to the green tea in quality. The veins are curly and complex. It is dark green with a natural flowery fragrance. The flavor is elegant and light. The liquid is yellow. The brewed leaves are tender, even and unbroken.
Wenshan Baozhong originated from a packing method popular 150 years ago. Wang Yicheng, from Anxi. southern Fujian, imitated the Wuyi Yancha process method to produce Anxi tea and fumigated it with a flowery fragrance. The Anxi tea was packed into a 200-g square bag with a piece of Fujian paper citing the tea shop's name and address. The tea is popular and named Baozhong (packed) tea.

Baihao Oolong
A deeply fermented blue tea mainly produced in Xinzhu County and also called Pengfeng Tea. The liquid is red and gives the tea the name Oriental Beauty. The tea leaves are covered with fuzz and are of five colors—red, yellow, white, green and brown. The flavor is mellow and sweet, and tastes fruity. The brewed leaves are unbroken and light brown with red edges.
Baihao Oolong has a funny origin. The tea is normally plucked in earty June each year. In summers, a type of cicadas infest the tea plants. Tea farmers process this damaged tea plant with the blue tea technology. Surprisingly, it has a special flavor and is very popular. The tea was called Pengfeng Tea (“boasting" in the Kejia dialect) in the beginning.
